Wedding Photography at The Retreat at Elcot Park

The Retreat at Elcot Park still feels like a little hidden gem to me. Not only is it wonderful for larger celebrations, it caters perfectly for more intimate celebrations too! I love the modern but characterful decor that incorporates colour beautifully in all it's spaces, merging both modern country charm and grand estate aesthetic.

The Portobello Room

Perfect for intimate ceremonies and smaller guest counts, The Portobello Room offers a cosy and well sit space for smaller celebrations.

The Conservatory - Ceremony

For larger celebrations, The Conservatory at The Retreat is the real showstopper! Drenched in natural light year round, the room offers plenty of space for larger guest counts. The room is framed with these incredible Fiddle Leaf Fig trees that create a real sanctuary ambience!

The Conservatory - Wedding Breakfast

The warm green colour palette of the space really lends itself to Spring/Summer British cottage garden vibes with pastel colours working a treat. Here are a few table inspiration photos:

Group Photographs Locations

For your group photographs & portraits, there are a few great locations to choose from. On an overcast day, I love getting photos from the front of the house, showing off the beautiful venue as a whole. If you are getting married in peak Summer, this is in direct sunlight until much later in the day so it can be less flattering lighting and too hot to stand in, especially for elderly relatives. In this case, I would always recommend finding shelter under the beautiful tree or potentially in the courtyard area where the sun isn't as direct.

The Perfect Golden Hour Portraits

If you are blessed with a sunny day here, I would definitely recommend going out for some golden hour portraits. The sun sets behind the drive, offering stunning greenery for a backdrop. I also love escaping to the flowered path for more portraits (just adjacent to the car park). There is an array of flowers and shrubs offering varying colours year round and it's always worth a visit!

Use of The Library

One of the other rooms available is The Library. It's a grand and proper mature 'snug' room, perfect for some indoor portraits of the two of you away from the hustle and bustle of the day (especially if you need to stay inside on the day). For intimate celebrations, The Library can also be used as the evening reception area. This space is also perfect for sophisticated Groom Prep moments, especially with the whisky display cabinets on the back wall, I would highly recommend using this space in the morning!
